Our History

church-frontIn December 1963, Rev. Robert O’Neal, Sr., of Zebulon felt the call to plant a church in his new neighborhood on Richardson Road in Zebulon, NC.  Resigning from his church in Rocky Mount, NC as an elder, and from his employment in Raleigh, NC, he began a life of living on “faith.”  He and his wife, Lucille, began holding weekly prayer meetings in their home and conducting revivals across Central NC that tagged his ministry as the O’Neal Revival Team.  On August 8, 1968 Robert and Lucille O’Neal, Katie Lee O’Neal Jeffreys, Hubert and Louise O’Neal, Jasper and Azzie O’Neal, Rochell O’Neal, and Raeford Cooley filed the charter for O’Neal Revival Tabernacle in Raleigh, NC and erected the church the same year in December 1968.

ONeal-Slider-6During the next 42 years, the church peaked at 150 members with international missions in Haiti, but gradually declined as the then aging and ill-health Bishop O’Neal Sr pastored until his death in 2010.  With a handful of members, his son, Bob Jr pastors fulltime and is on a quest to rejuvenate the church through discipleship and evangelism.  At this point, a great opportunity exists to get in on the ground floor of a great “comeback church.”
